Semaglutide
Indications
Semaglutide, with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, is indicated for:
- Cardiovascular risk reduction in adults with type 2 diabetes, established cardiovascular disease, and obesity or overweight.
- Improved glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
- Renal and cardiovascular protection, reducing the risk of sustained eGFR decline, end-stage kidney disease, and cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
- Long-term weight management in adults and adolescents (≥12 years) with obesity, and adults with overweight plus at least one weight-related comorbidity.
- Treatment of noncirrhotic MASH (formerly NASH) with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis in adults.
